This is the first in a series of four Introductory Video tutorials.
This one concentrates first on the basic controls used to manipulate a character, including handles, nodes, controllers.
Then, in the second half of the video, we also take a look at editing the ’states’ of nodes and Handles in order to extend our control further.
Finally, we look at setting default handle actions and saving / retrieving default states for all IK Boost settings relevant to the RIG.

Great stuff. The work you are putting into this is very impressive.

but I see you’ve had to turn off guest commenting. Anyway thanks again, and I hope you get a chance to look at the third video, it seems to be the best for helping explain concepts so far.

I think Newtek ought to include them as part of their LW package, because they do such a great job explaining IKBoost !!
THANKS !
June 14th, 2006, at 7:27 pm #HI Collin,
I didn’t no where to post this. Hope you get it.
What you have shared here, has opened my eyes and
given me hope not only for Ikbooster but for 3D animation in general.
I have a serious problem with Ik booster though.
I cannot undo any actions which I create.
I can turn on ikb, manipulate the rig etc.
but then, (while still in ikb mode of course)
cannot undo.
I tried: command z option z control z as well as the undo button
in layout.
I hope this is a simple thing which I overlooked…
and not a problem with Ikboost or my system.
I feel like the kid outside the candy store looking in :-P.
I’m running on a Mac G5.
Feel Free to e-mail me any time
if you have time :-).
Thanks so much,
Jason

August 11th, 2006, at 7:03 pm #I really dunno, is your undos set incorrectly in the options?
You may need to delete your configs…
Not familar with Macs so… Is there a chance that there is temp file used for undos and it is read-only?
I know IKB stores its backup info in the Graph Editor.. maybe check the options in there too…
Are you able to test on another machine?
Hi Colin,
Thanks for the fast reply.
Undo’s were ok. Set to 100.
yeah I also tried deleting the preferences
as well as re-installing 9.0. More than once.
Didn’t really know what to do in the graphic editor.
Everything seems set to default.
yeah i tested it on 2 computers. A G4 and a G5.
It seems i could undo in 8.5 (on both computers)but not 9.0.
So it looks like I’ll be using 8.5 for ikboost for now.
Thanks again for the advice.
I look foward to working with the tutorials you have provided.

May 13th, 2007, at 12:13 am #from 8.0 to 9.0, 9.2 is broken at the moment so it wont work there right now
