Interesting to see someone rigging a character entirely in Layout. I’ve only ever done it by creating skelegons in Modeler and importing them. Any reason why you don’t use this workflow?
Thanks for sharing the tutes. I’ve been convinced that IKBoost should no longer languish in the “mysterious bits of Lightwave that I can’t see the point in learning” basket.

You dont get as much control over the Bones as you do with the Modelling tools, and it does take a bit of getting used to, and they are buggy, so you have to learn by experience of when and where you can push them around.
But the advantages are big, continous interactive feedback of deformations is a huge plus, editing the skeleton as you go - instead of having to switch-import-edit-switch-convert-pray-repeat.. .it works out much much faster when you get used to it, another advantage for anyone who works exclusivly with weight-maps (like I did) is that it helps relieve that dependancy.

January 2nd, 2008, at 8:01 am #Wonderful video, really useful, anyway I have a problem…
At first, sorry for my poor english…
At 34:58 (after fixing the wrist, turning off the ikstop of the scapula and moving back the hip controller) the “teacher” moves the hip controller around and the puppet moves very well.
My problem: the puppet doesn’t move at all! If i move only heading, pitch or bank, legs moves while the upper part doesn’t. I controlled hierarchies many times and they’re ok.
It’s a ikboost bug or what? I use Lightwave 9.2.
Thanks so much!!
